Working with CGL, The Basement Recovery Project and Community Links to provide a drug and alcohol treatment service for adults living in and around the Kirklees area.

If you or someone you know needs help or support with a drug or alcohol problem please get in touch with our team.

We can provide:

  • Signposting/referral to a range of services according to need e.g mental health.
  • Confidential advice.
  • Help to minimise harm including a needle exchange.
  • Health and Wellbeing interventions such as Screening and immunisation for blood borne viruses, e.g. hepatitis B
  • Prescribed Opiate Substitute Medication such as treatment e.g. Methadone and Subutex.
  • Prescribed medication to reduce risk of relapse to dependent alcohol consumption.
  • Community Detoxification for Drug and Alcohol use.
  • One stop clinics dealing with both drug and alcohol problems
  • Aftercare and programmes of activities
  • Support with education and employment
  • Nurse led Wound Care Clinics
  • A Shared Care Scheme drug and alcohol service in partnership with local GPs
  • Drug and Alcohol support within the hospital.
  • Alcohol awareness and alcohol medical intervention training.

Core Services

  • Shared Care Drug Misuse Service

    The joint participation of specialists and GPs (and other agencies according to need) in the planned delivery of treatment and care for clients with a substance misuse problem. These may include supporting GP’s with prescribing substitute opioid medication, community detoxification or referral to inpatient detoxification or rehabilitation and delivering therapeutic/psychosocial intervention to promote change and support an individual’s recovery.
    This service provides late evening clinic provision according to patient need.

  • Shared Care Alcohol Service

    The joint participation of specialists and GPs (and other agencies according to need)
    in the planned delivery of treatment and care for clients who may be drinking to harmful levels or may be dependant drinkers. The service will offer Brief and extended interventions, simple structured advice, along with encouraging the use of mutual aid and PSI to support a client to achieve their goals.
    This may also include supporting GPs in prescribing nutritional supplementation, relapse prevention medications and supporting community alcohol detoxification. Or referral to inpatient detoxification and/or rehabilitation according to need.
    It includes provision of Health and Wellbeing support.
    This service provided late evening clinic provision according to patient need.

  • Hospital Alcohol Service

    The team of nurses and doctors in partnership with CGL provide a comprehensive service to those who are attend A&E and may be assessed or admitted under the care of Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Dewsbury District General Hospital. This service is provided 6 days per week across both hospitals.

    The Nurses supports the training of acute trust staff and the implementation of alcohol screening and brief/extended interventions. They support and train acute staff with the management of unplanned medically assisted alcohol withdrawal alongside physical and mental health conditions. It provides specialist assessment for those admitted.

    The team support discharge pathways and referral into community services alongside community staff who work with referrals from the hospital.

    The team actively support the case management of patients who frequently attend both A&E and whom are admitted to hospital.
