Service User Recovery Group

Kirklees in Recovery (formerly Kirklees United) is an organisation open to anyone who is interested in all aspects of Recovery from a drink or drug problem. It is for individuals, friends and families, supporters, people who work in the field and organisations who wish to back and support our cause.  You are currently on the Kirklees in Recovery website!

  • Mutual Aid Support Group

    Kirklees in Recovery meets regularly at the Recovery Hubs in Huddersfield and Dewsbury to discuss and plan group activities for those who have been affected by addiction and to offer support for those in need.

  • Recovery Activities

    Kirklees in Recovery organise recovery social activities for anyone affected by drug or alcohol addiction; individuals, friends and family etc.  From ten pin bowling to camping trips. We unite for mutual aid recovery.

  • Tackling Addiction

    We meet to provide peer support to individuals who are in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction, and to set about change in our locality by engaging effectively with community services.

    • To promote that recovery from addiction is possible for the people of Kirklees
    • To improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Kirklees affected by addiction
    • To develop support networks to help individuals maintain their recovery from addiction
    • To develop community based opportunities to support recovery through volunteering, enterprise, participation and networking
    • To reduce the stigma attached to those affected by addiction in Kirklees
