CLASS is open to individuals who are aged 16 + who live within the Kirklees area. We provide support to people who are struggling to manage their alcohol use and who are finding it difficult to cope in other areas of everyday life. People referred to CLASS may have become isolated from friends and family or lost employment and be in poor health due to their drinking.

Support offered is for a maximum of two years. Support may be shorter than this depending on the individual’s needs.

The CLASS service does not require that clients stop drinking if they do not wish to. Clients are expected to be motivated to improve their circumstances and to use the help provided to increase their independence.

We accept referrals from any source, including self; other professionals; carer; family or friend. Referrals can be made by completing a CLASS referral form which can be returned to us by email, fax or posted to our address. Alternatively, if you prefer to speak with someone, we also accept telephone referrals.

  • Community Links Assertive Engagement Team

We provide support to people who are misusing alcohol and who wish to make changes to their drinking. Our staff work in partnership with On TRAK to deliver structured support and interventions to people who are unable to come into the On TRAK service because of physical illness, disability or poor mental health. We visit people in their own homes.

Our team will deliver the On TRAK interventions to people in their home. The length of this support may be between 3 – 6 months. This depends on the help needed (for example reduction, detoxification, harm minimisation advice) and the complexity of the individual’s needs (for example someone may find shorter appointments easier to cope with due to anxiety or illness).

The emphasis of the service is to help people to make changes to their drinking. It is therefore important that at the point of referral, clients are ready and motivated to follow the goals agreed with their worker and to take the steps to make changes.

Referrals will be accepted from any source, including self; other professionals; carer; family or friend. For more information, or to make a referral, please contact On TRAK (details opposite).

Changes is a women’s service based in Batley, working across Kirklees. We have specific focus on women with multiple complex needs and chaotic lifestyles. We offer one to one assertive support and a variety of group work options.

The CHANGES Service provides a specialist holistic assessment to women with complex needs on the personality disorder continuum. We work with women who may have been excluded from other services (due to alcohol/drug use, violence/aggression, lack of engagement) and provide a package of resettlement support into mainstream services to women with complex needs. We aim to support women to understand their mental health difficulties and how these impact on their lives.

  • Community Links WY-FI

     01924 448979

The West Yorkshire Fulfilling Lives: Supporting People with Multiple Needs Programme, known as West Yorkshire – Finding Independence (WY-FI) provide support to the people with the most entrenched multiple and complex needs in Kirklees to access the services and interventions they need. Our criteria are that clients are experiencing three of the four HARM needs (Homelessness, Addiction, Re-offending and Mental Health). In addition they need to NOT currently be engaging in any other support.

Navigators provide intensive and assertive support to individuals to overcome barriers to accessing and engaging with services in order to broker a support package which is bespoke and realistic for that individual.

If you would like to discuss a notification for someone you think would meet the criteria for WY-FI please call to speak to the Navigator team on 01924 448979
